This month’s question: Do you have any personal rituals?

I’m an early riser (430am) - pretty much 7 days of the week, enjoying quiet time and coffee(s) - even before the dog wakes up.

My morning ritual starts with my family. While my wife and I are usually franticly scrambling to get the kids up out the door by 7am, it’s a daily – albeit brief – reminder that keeps us centered on our ‘why’.

I start out each day with checking out the news on Associated Press (AP), Wallstreet Journal news, and BBC news website. Then I catch up on one my favorite sites of personal interest, AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), which provides daily incredible flying adventures, lessons learned, airplane reviews, interesting interviews with private pilots. Last, but not least, I pick up a large McDonalds coffee, for $1.06, on the way to work. Best coffee. Period.

I like to run with colleagues while I am on business travel. It is a great opportunity to see the place you are visiting from a different perspective. It also puts an emphasis on keeping healthy while on travel. Most importantly to me, it gives me time to talk with coworkers in a different environment and it is something I greatly look forward to while I travel.
